Back pain is one medical condition that should not be ignored if felt more frequently. According to medical experts, back pain is one of the top reasons for patients to see a physician. In fact, it is one of the most common medical problems most patients complain about.

If you experience even a tingling sensation more than once in succession for a week, it might be a symptom of a back pain. But the safest bet is to see a physician right away, most specifically, an orthopedic.

Anatomically, back pain is divided into four different divisions: neck pain, upper back pain, lower back pain, tailbone pain. Depending on the severity of the pain, it may last up to less than a month, some pains can last up to 3 months which can be considered subacute. In some cases, pain can be chronic and may last up to more than 4 months.

Moreover, back pain can also be classified into two: nonspecific back pain and secondary back pain. The most common medical problem associated with back pain, however, is nonspecific back pain. The symptoms can vary depending on the source of the pain but usually a tingling sensation is felt from the neck down the tailbone. The secondary back pain is the least common among the two but entails a more serious problem. It is usually caused by an underlying condition that is thought to be pathological in nature.

Most cases of back pain usually does not require immediate medical attention while in the acute phase. However, it is always advisable to see a qualified orthopedic specialist to ascertain the problem.
