What do I need to bring for my first visit?
First time patients must bring identification and insurance information. If under 18 a legal guardian must be present with you.
Can I fill out the medical forms prior to my appointment with Pacifica Orthopedics & Sports Medicine?
Yes go to Patient Information on our website, and then go to Patient Forms. If the forms are complete upon arrive, then you will only need to be here 10-15 minutes early. If the forms are not completed please arrive 30-45 minutes early.
Do I need to be early for my scheduled appointment time?
Yes 10 to 15 minutes
What clothing should I wear on the day of my doctor’s visit?
Wear loose fitting clothing; the doctor must be able to examine the area without restriction.
Do I need to bring a companion with me?
Yes, if you are having a procedure done, you may not be able to drive.
What information should I bring for the doctor?
Bring your insurance card, a detailed list of medications, past medical history, doctor’s notes, x-rays, and/or MRI’s.
I’ve had a change of insurance since my last visit. When should I notify the office?
Notify the office prior to your next schedule visit
Am I responsible for a payment at the time of my visit?
Yes, you are responsible for co-pays and deductibles. If you have no insurance, payment is due in full at time of visit.
It is my first visit; will I be seeing a doctor?
Yes, you will be seen by the doctor that you made the appointment with.
When do I use ice on my injury?
Use ice 10-15 minutes to relieve pain and to keep the swelling down.
When do I use heat on my injury?
You would only use heat 10-15 minutes where the injury is no longer acute. Heat helps to restore range of motion and decrease soft tissue stiffness.
If have a fracture, will I be put in a cast?
Maybe, the doctor will make a decision on whether a cast or a splint is the best for you. Severe fractures may require surgery.
What happens if I need an X-Ray, Fluroscopy, or an MRI?
We have Digital X-Ray, fluroscopy, and MRI onsite.
Will I need to have follow up care for rehabilitation?
It is a good possibility that you may need restorative therapies. Pacifica Orthopedics & Sports Medicine has physical and occupational therapy on-site.
Am I able to get a prescription filled at Pacifica Orthopedics & Sports Medicine?
Yes, your doctor may write you a prescription which you can fill at our in-house pharmacy, or you can go to a pharmacy of your choice.
