The Rheumatoid Arthritis is an autoimmune disease which can lead to inflammation around the body tissues especially around the joints and on the internal organs. The disease has been known to cause severe deformities on the feet, hands and wrists. The people suffering from the condition have also been found to have problems with their immune system. In this condition, the body system mistakes its own tissues for foreign bodies resulting in attacks. This results in the creation of anti bodies that are targeted on the body.

The disease is however hereditary and can also be triggered by certain environmental factors that deter the immune system of an individual. Reports have also claimed that smoking has increased the risk.

The symptoms can become active for some time and then become dormant. The primary symptoms to the Rheumatoid Arthritis have been found to include joint swelling. The severity varies between individuals and can be as minor as none. The Rheumatoid Arthritis affects multiple joints of ones body on both sides. Once the condition starts to get severe, it leads to difficulty in handling simple daily tasks such as turning the door knobs. The condition progresses through the erosion of the cartilage, joints, muscles and the bones. Severe conditions with no medical care can lead to complete disability.
